November 8, 2016 General Election

Important Dates

September 8, 2016
Last day for city elections official, county governing body or district elections authority to file notice of measure election.
Last day for governing body to file explanatory statement for voters' pamphlet.
September 12, 2016
Last day for candidate who files candidacy with governing body other than county clerk to file county voters' pamphlet statement.
Last day to file measure arguments for county voters' pamphlet.
September 24, 2016 Last day to print and mail ballots mailed to Military and Overseas voters.
October 10, 2016 First day to mail ballots for Out of State voters.
October 18, 2016 Last day to register vote. Registration cards postmarked by this date or submitted online no later than 11:59 pm are valid.
October 19, 2016 First day to mail Ballots.
October 25, 2016 Last day to mail Ballots.
November 1, 2016
Suggested last day to mail your voted return ballot to ensure delivery by Election day.  (Cannot mail by this day? Local ballot dropsite information available HERE)
Public certification test of vote tally equipment.  10am Columbia County elections
November 3, 2016 Last day to mail absentee or replacement ballots
November 8, 2016 ELECTION DAY.  County Clerk offices open 7am - 8pm.  Official dropsites open until 8pm.
November 22, 2016 Last day to resolve ballot challenges
November 28, 2016 Last day for County Clerk to prepare and deliver abstracts to appropriate election officials.
