Notice of Recording Fee Increase

Effective Wednesday, January 1, 2014, two changes in Recording documents will be implemented.

  1. Recording fees for most documents will increase by $5.00 due to the passage of HB 2417. Essentially, any document that currently costs $46 to record, will cost $51 to record beginning January 1st.

The $5 per additional page fee will not be affected.

Documents that are exempt from this fee include: Mining claims, Oregon Department of Revenue warrants, Oregon Employment Department warrants, IRS liens, certified copies of judgments and satisfaction of judgments.

  1. With the passage of HB 2093, we are prohibited from recording a certified copy of a death certificate if it contains medical information stating the cause of death. This amends ORS 432.124.

Beginning January 1st, if a certified copy of an Oregon death certificate is presented for recording and it contains medical information related to the cause of death or if the certified copy has been altered, the document will be rejected and returned unrecorded.
